Keto Triple Chocolate Protein Muffins packed with 12.7g protein and only 0 net carbs! These triple chocolate protein muffin tops are grain-free, sugar-free, and ready in minutes

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs – The protein and moisture base that creates fluffy texture
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder – Deep chocolate flavor without sugar

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder – Adds structure, sweetness, and 80g protein per cup
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder – Creates lift and airy texture

Optional Mix-Ins:

  • 1/2 cup sugar-free chocolate chips – Extra chocolate indulgence (increases net carbs to 4.0g)

Instructions

Phase 1: Preparation (3 minutes)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Lightly grease muffin top pan with cooking spray or line with parchment circles
  3. Gather all ingredients and equipment

Pro tip: Room temperature eggs whisk more easily and create fluffier batter.

Phase 2: Mixing the Batter (4 minutes)

  1. Crack all 6 eggs into large mixing bowl
  2. Whisk eggs vigorously until fully blended and slightly frothy (about 2 minutes)
  3. Add chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder and double acting baking powder
  4. Mix until completely smooth with no lumps remaining

Common mistake: Over mixing after adding protein powder creates tough muffins. Mix just until smooth.

Phase 3: Adding Mix-Ins (1 minute)

  1. If using sugar-free chocolate chips, gently fold them into batter
  2. Don’t over mix—you want chips evenly distributed but batter still smooth

The game-changer: Reserve a few chips to press into tops before baking for a bakery-style finish.

Phase 4: Baking and Cooling (12+ minutes)

  1. Divide batter evenly among 6 muffin top molds (about 1/2 cup each)
  2. Bake for exactly 15 to 20 minutes until edges are set and tops spring back when touched
  3. Let cool in pan for 3-5 minutes before removing to cooling rack

Completion indicators: Edges should be golden brown, centers just set, and muffins should smell deeply chocolatey.

Each muffin is naturally high in protein and healthy fats from whole eggs, with virtually no carbohydrates  if your cocoa powder (Fryer’s for example) has zero carbs.  These muffins contain zero sugar and remain extremely low in net carbs. If chocolate chips or sweeteners are added, carbohydrates will primarily come from sugar alcohols or non-glycemic sweeteners such as monk fruit or stevia, which do not function as digestible glucose in the body.
