Hey everyone! I’ve had Slomo napping in the fridge for the past week but took him out a couple of days ago so I could make another loaf. My attempt at scoring hearts, in honour of valentines day…lol….still need to hone my skills at scoring. Happy Valentine’s all!

Help, Shari! I can’t keep up with Slomo. This is him within 48 hours of rehousing 1/4 of him in a new jar. What do I do? I was hoping to bake once, maybe twice a week. Is it best to refrigerate him, feed him less or something else?

This is GREAT! WOW! This kind of action usually happens after the 5th or 6th batch. Incredible.
Here’s a breakdown of how to keep your starter alive and ready for baking when you desire.
Process Overview:
Use 1 cup of starter for baking.
Put 1/4 jar back in the fridge, with the lid on, for storage.
When ready to bake again, take out the starter…

Christine. WOW!!!! What a beauty. You’ve got it!!!!!! I’m posting a video soon. When you get down to the last slice which can sometime be a little stale, make sourdough croutons for your salads! Great way to get your fiber. Cut into cubes and fry til golden in olive oil with some salt. Yummy!!!

Here’s Slomo’s first born….
He smells good, but not sure if he looks as good as he should…he’s kinda flat and the smile was more closed than open, if that makes sense. 🤷♀️

Wondering @sinlesssourdough@gmail.com could the flat issue be because it was on the wrong rack in the oven. Where should the rack be?

I think it could be yeast related did you use the one she recommend and did you have double action baking powder???

I am such a proud mama right now. Slomo grew from the elastic band to where he is in the pic overnight! He’s growing like a weed, so much so, I don’t think his name is really fitting anymore.😆 I sing ‘You are my sunshine’ to him at least twice a day…I think he likes it!😁
My preferment is ready for baking today, so I’d prefer to wait a few…

hahahah this is awesome!!!!! Bravo! He feels the love. You could call him Seabiscuit! (Seabiscuit was an American thoroughbred racehorse who became a symbol of hope during the Great Depression. Known for his small size and underdog status, Seabiscuit overcame early setbacks to achieve remarkable success on the racetrack. His most…

Hi everyone! Sharing two pictures of my very first starter (I call him Slomo), taken only one day apart. I started feeding him last Saturday, January 18th and was a little worried at first because he didn’t have many bubbles, and didn’t seem to be growing on his own…lol. But Shari has reassured me that he is indeed fermenting and is ready…

Our dear Slomo looks good! Remember he is a babe in the wood, just brought to life. As he ages so will his beneficial gifts! Watch him over the next couple of days. This is really good fermentation for only 4 days of feedings!

Will definitely keep an eye on my little overachiever.
