KETO OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES

A Note on “Keto” Labelling
This recipe is labelled flexible keto because it’s no “strict” but is designed to reduce blood sugar impact through intentional ingredient choices and traditional fermentation methods — not because it requires strict dieting.
Many people looking for healthier recipes, improved digestion, or more stable energy enjoy these cookies successfully, even if they don’t follow a strict ketogenic diet.
A Cookie That Brings Back Sunday Afternoons
I’ll never forget the first time I pulled a batch of these cookies from the oven.
The kitchen smelled like my grandmother’s house on Sunday afternoons — warm cinnamon and sweet raisins — except these cookies fit perfectly into my flexible keto lifestyle.
After years of missing real oatmeal raisin cookies, discovering how hemp hearts and sourdough discard could recreate that nostalgic chew and flavour felt like unlocking a secret level in low-carb baking.
Why These Keto Cookies Actually Taste Like Real Cookies
The beauty of these keto cookies lies in their authentic texture and familiar taste.
These aren’t those crumbly, disappointing keto cookies that fall apart when you look at them. These have:
- Crispy edges
- Soft, chewy centers
- A real oatmeal-cookie bite
They deliver true comfort food — without the blood sugar roller coaster.

What Makes These Keto Cookies Different?
Traditional oatmeal raisin cookies contain 20–30g net carbs per cookie from refined flour, sugar, and excessive oats.
Most keto cookie recipes rely heavily on almond flour alone, which creates a sandy, one-note texture that never quite satisfies.
This Recipe Flips the Formula
The game-changer is the combination of hemp hearts and controlled portions of old-fashioned rolled oats.
Why This Works
- Hemp hearts provide protein, healthy omega-3 fats, and tender chew
- When fermented, hemp hearts mimic oatmeal texture and possess reduced phytic acid
- You can use fewer oats while keeping authentic flavour
- Sourdough discard adds fermented complexity and depth of flavor
What Sets These Cookies Apart
- Real oats in controlled portions
- Hemp hearts instead of almond-flour overload
- Living sourdough discard
- Flame raisins for concentrated sweetness
- Monk fruit brown sweetener for molasses notes
- No weird aftertaste from excessive sweeteners
Why Does This Keto Cookie Recipe Work?
✔️ High protein from complete hemp protein
✔️ Ultra-low net carbs
✔️ Simple grocery-store ingredients
✔️ Meal-prep friendly
✔️ Blood-sugar-stable sweetening
✔️ Potential gut-health support from fermentation
✔️ Omega-3 rich fats
✔️ Real oatmeal-style chew

Hemp hearts provide structure, moisture, and oatmeal-style chew.

These cookies do not spread much. Shape them before baking.Do Not Overbake:
Remove when centers look slightly underdone — they firm as they cool.Storage:
